So you wanna go back to Egypt?

For those few Keith Green fans that remain the above reference will be appreciated. For everyone else, what I am referring to is a trip that I hope to take to Egypt in the fall. It is of the missional variety and will involve setting up computers, painting and light construction on a church, and spending time investing in orphans and the community in general. Our liason will be a native Egyptian who is a follower of Jesus and a passionate one at that. We will be leaving Oct. 25 and returning on the 3rd of November. The cost is $2700 dollars and that will cover air fare, meals, and other travel expenses. The remainder will go towards computers for the church's community center. Please check back often as I will be posting more information and photos. God is at work in the Middle East and though we in America have become very polarized in our views of it our Father created its people in His image and desires that they should know Him. Beyond that, what better way to create peace between us than to worship the same God and look forward to the same eternity together? Thanks in advance for your prayers and your support.

That sounds like a cool trip, I would love to go over there but the middle east is a little scary right now for someone who looks so american as I do, if I had a little color maybe but I have kids to feed so I guesse I will get to visit once the new Jerusalem is built. shalom

shalom brutha. thanks for the comment. Hopefully I won't get run over by a camel or something. There is obviously a need in the Middle East for Jesus so its worth it to me. Plus, Egypt is actually the safest place you can go over there because its very metropolitan. Anyway, thanks again for checking in. Shoot me an email sometime.

I wouldn't have a problem doing anywhere and doing that except for my kids needing a dad, other wise i'm be kinda like mel gibson in the first lethal weapon, i think it would be great fun.

yeah no doubt. and yeah, you're right, I have two little boys and I wouldn't be going if I hadn't talked to people who just got back in April who said its totally safe and they love Americans. Its really pretty different from the rest of the middle east. I was in the Sbarros in Jerusalem one week to the day before it got blown up. I felt a lot less safe there than I will in Egpyt. How many kids do you have?

That was me that blew up the Sbarro's. No political agenda, I just HATE Sbarro's. Sorry, everyone. I'm feeling much better now.

I kinda thought it was all of those greasy pepperoni's spontaneously combusting but Dorsey blowing it up makes more sense. After all, anyone who listens to fish (not the band) in stereo has to be capable of all manner of madness.
